Temasek International appoints John Vaske as Joint Head, North America
Singapore - Temasek International is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr John Vaske as Joint Head, North America, to oversee the portfolio and investments in North America with effect from 16 January 2017.
John Vaske is presently Co-Chairman of Global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs. John joined Goldman in 1988 as an Analyst with the M&A team in New York and has since spent his entire career with Goldman. He relocated and worked in Tokyo from 1989 to 1991 before returning to New York in 1991 and remained with the M&A team till 1997. In 1997, John was asked to head the Chemicals Group, which later merged into the Natural Resources Group. He relocated to London in 2005 to head the European Natural Resources Group. In March 2010, he returned to New York as Co-Chairman of Natural Resources Group and was promoted to his current role as Co-Chairman of Global M&A in 2015.
John graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) in 1988.
John will add depth to Temasek’s bench strength, bringing with him considerable experience in global M&A transactions as well as a deep understanding of the North America market.
Dilhan Pillay, as Head, Americas, will continue to provide leadership and oversight on Temasek’s investment activities and portfolio in the Americas, which include both North America and Latin America.
