Update: Impersonation of Temasek in Vietnam
We refer to the scam alert published on 5 April 2024 titled “Impersonation of Temasek in Vietnam”.
Since then, we were alerted to documents with our logo that were sent to a real estate agent who was approached by “Temasek Property”. One of the documents is a letter purportedly written by Lim Boon Heng, Chairman of "Temasek Global Pte. Ltd.", claiming that a “Brian Nguyen (Nguyen Lynh Hoang)” has been nominated as the legal representative of “Temasek Vietnam Co., Ltd.” The other document is an investment proposal purportedly sent out by Png Chin Yee, CFO of "Temasek Global Pte. Ltd.", detailing the strategic acquisition and financial structuring of “Hanoi Condominium Project developed by CapitaLand”.
The documents are fakes (see below). While Temasek has an office in Hanoi (Temasek International Pte. Ltd. Hanoi Representative Office), the letter was not issued by Temasek or written by Lim Boon Heng, Chairman, Temasek Holdings. The investment proposal was also not written by Png Chin Yee, the Chief Financial Officer of Temasek International.
Specifically:
- “Brian Nguyen (Nguyen Lynh Hoang)”;
- “Temasek Property”; and
- “Temasek Vietnam Co., Ltd.”
are not associated with Temasek in any way.
Please exercise care and diligence when dealing with parties purporting to represent or be associated with Temasek. You should take steps to confirm their authenticity and authority to act.
If you have relied on these fake documents to make investments or purchases, you should consider reporting the matter to your local police authorities. Temasek does not assume or accept responsibility for any transactions done in its name that are not mandated by specific authority.
We reserve all rights to pursue legal action and remedies against any person or company that infringes on our trademarks and/or impersonates Temasek.
